The fight, slated for August 17th, should be a scorcher laden with failed takedowns and submissions. It is hard to judge who is better but Shogun may start as a slight favorite. Shogun is a swift mover and will have to use his felicity to avoid submission nitty-gritty. He plays directly after a loss to Alexander Gustaffson, but he did have his chances there. Preparations have been warm on both sides as the match will be televised on Fox Sports. Sonnen is an American steeped in the arts of Vale Tudo and Wrestling. His wins against Michael Bisping and Brian Stann were quite satisfactory even if Anderson Silva has twice pulled him back to earth. He has a 27-13 win-loss record, and by that logic, should win this as he has lost his last two bouts.
