The British Royal Navy on December 7 held a flag-raising ceremony, marking the delivery of the HMS Queen Elizabeth to the squadron. The ceremony was attended by Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Anne, Standard reported.

HMS Queen Elizabeth is the largest warship in British naval history, named after Queen Elizabeth II. The vessel has a displacement of 65,000 tonnes and a deck area of 16,000 square meters, 2.5 times the size of Wembley Stadium.

Although it was commissioned on 7 December, the ship still has to undergo a series of tests and inspections of actual operations, before reaching combat readiness in 2020.

HMS Queen Elizabeth is equipped with two Rolls-Royce Marine Trent MT30 gas turbines, each with a capacity of 48,000 horsepower, and four diesel generators with a capacity of 15,000 and 12,000 horsepower, enabling the vessel to reach speeds of up to 46 km / hour.
