  1. Kalashnikov announced the completion of the AK-12 and AK-15 rifle trials, part of the future Ratnik.
  2. "The tests with the new assault rifle for the Ratnik fight equipment have been completed and the results will be announced in the near future," said Kalutnikov representative Sofiya Ivanova. December 14th.
  3. The Ratnik program does not currently select a modern assault rifle to replace the Russian standard AK-74M. The Russian Ministry of Defense is evaluating the A545 and A762 rifles of the Degtyavev plant, and the AK-12s are armed with 5.45x39 mm rounds and AK-15s using 7.62x39 mm rounds from Kalashnikov.
  4. The AK-12 assault rifle has been developed by the Kalashnikov Group since 2011. The gun is more modern than its predecessors and can not be swapped with the AK-74M and AK-100s. The AK-12 can overcome the shortcomings of firepower and cost of production, improving some of the missing features of previous guns.
  5. The AK-12 and AK-15 retained the traditional design of the air intake and locking system, with a 5.45x39 mm AK-74M ammunition cartridge or AKM 74mm gun. The barrel, air intake and barrel are redesigned to increase accuracy in all conditions.
