If you want to make posts on that bitcointalk forum you have to be active for 1-2 hours in the newbie section, make 1-2 posts there then you can write on the whole board.


And you find alot of mining guides there, depends on the algorythm which miner to choose, the popular algo is scrypt so you will use  cudaminer.

for CPU only coins you don't need a miner, just open the wallet client and go in console and type   setgenerate true -0
then all available cores will be used to mine and it starts after pressing enter.
