Database crash if I try to add 44 images from wordpress... Hello, I'm running an apache+MariaDB VPS where I've installed some websites I manage. Today I've found something really weird. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If You want to buy cheap web hosting then visit http://Listfreetop.pw and select the cheapest hosting. it can be suitable for all your needs. Listfreetop.pw Listfreetop.pw Listfreetop.pw +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I need to add 44 images to my article. If I add media, I select all the 44 images and then add them inside an article, when I click Add to article the database crash. This is the error I'm getting on Maria DB DBI connect failed : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) It crashed 4 times in something like 5 minutes, somehow the images I add into the text are the problem! Any idea what's going on and how to fix? It's my VPS that's not strong enough maybe? MariaDB should not crash like that. Like you said, it is possible that resources are small on VPS and MariaDB does not have enough. To monitor this: use the command "top" and see how much memory you use and you have available. Usually Wordpress does not store images in database, only links to the images, and your browser loads the images as provided by Apache, not MySQL/MariaDB. If you upgraded packages recently, type " mysql_upgrade -u'root' -p'password' " to upgrade tables and databases too. If not upgraded, this can cause errors which crash the server application. However, please also check logs of MariaDB to see why it crashed. In a standard Debian configuration the error log is stored in /var/log/mysql/error.log How large are the images, how much memory is free during the upload, is everything being uploaded one by one or all at the same time, what do your error logs say? First, what type of resources does this VPS have that you are running on? Insufficient resources alone could cause a crash. Second, images are stored as files on the server, NOT within the DB. So I doubt the images themselves are what is crashing the DB. It's more likely the plugin, wordpress, the script, method you are loading/displaying the images. Third, Try optimizing the images. You shouldn't be uploading the images at full resolution, no monitor/eye/web need the detail of an 80MB image file Hello, I'm running an apache+MariaDB VPS where I've installed some websites I manage. There's a conflicting plugin Have you tried adding 1,2, or about 10 images to see if the same issue happens? What plugins do you have installed? The issue just started today? Any updates to the theme or plugins? Was WordPress upgraded from an older version? Do you know of any changes or upgrades to the VPS account?
