How to rent a desktop computer? I need to rent a desktop computer for social media management. I don't need many more resources than the ability to be able to use a web browser. I've heard that AWS offers such a thing but I can't figure out how to sign up. I want a computer and not a remote desktop running Windows server. Expert Tech IT - Your IT Heroes "I want a computer and not a remote desktop running Windows server." ~ is what he said. But then again I'm not sure why this was posted in the "Web Hosting" section...? Where are you located? Libraries in the USA have desktops you can "checkout", but you can't take home Other than that, there are some used computer stores that offer PC Rental, either onsite or takeout, or you can just purchase a cheap desktop PC to take home. I think the OP meant he does'nt want the server version of windows like windows 2012 R2 but he does want windows 10, am I right? Ahhh well then, would that still be a post in "Web Hosting"...? I would recommend to setup a PC from any of the sources I mentioned, AND setup RDP. Then walk into the next room, turn on your tablet and RDP to the PC I am not exactly sure what the OP is looking for, but I think ExpertTechIT_James got it right. Waiting for some feedback from the OP. An actual computer for social media? The local library, but you are then limited to their hours. There's also Rent-To-Own places that rent furniture, TV's and computers. I haven't seen any computer stores here renting computers, but it's possible. There's also internet cafe's, but they are almost hard to find now. I remember when almost every street corner had 4 cafes, and every corner shop and donut shop jumped on the internet band wagon. Then the libraries just offered the same thing to everyone for free. That’s right. I don’t really care what version of Windows it is as long as it’s for a PC. I work as a social media manager and I manage several accounts. I use residential proxies when managing those accounts. What I’m trying to do is come up with a solution to make my job easier. I use many different devices and I can’t sit in front of the same one all day long. I thought it would be easier to remotely connect to a desktop if those are available. I currently run some social accounts through RDP with machines using Windows Server. I’m concerned that the social platforms will see my system specs and eventually shut down the account due to having a strange footprint. Cheaper and faster option: Rent a Linux VPS. Install desktops packages, Firefox and VNC. You can they login to the desktop of that VPS and manage your social media accounts. However, out of the box Windows RDP is more secure than a basic VNC installation. Enterprise Consultant ITIL - Agile Scrum Master - CCNP R&S - CCNA Sec .:.
