The motorway will be closed between 10pm tonight and 6am tomorrow Highways England is closing the northbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 36 and 37 from 10pm tonight (Friday) until 6am tomorrow (Saturday). The closure is to allow additional recovery work to take place after a 750-tonne mobile tower crane burst into flames on Thursday morning. The third lane of the northbound carriageway is set to be resurfaced next week. Junctions 37 and 38 are not affected by tonight's closure and a diversion will be in place to take traffic up the A6 to Kendal where they can rejoin the M6.
