La Liga have confirmed that the first La Liga Clasico of the season between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place on Dec. 23. The game, which will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu, will kick off at 13.00 CET. Following the match, La Liga will take a short break, with football resuming in the New Year. Barça currently sit at the top of the table with 28 points from a possible 30 after 10 games of the new season. Valencia are four points back and Madrid are third, eight points behind Ernesto Valverde’s side after losing to Girona last weekend. That loss to the Catalans was followed up with another defeat, against Tottenham in the Champions League on Wednesday. It’s the first mini-crisis of form which coach Zinedine Zidane has had to deal with since he took over from Rafa Benitez almost two years ago.
