New San Francisco 49ers associate mentor Katie Sowers turned out as a lesbian in an Outsports piece yesterday, making her the principal ever straightforwardly gay mentor not simply in NFL history, but rather in the historical backdrop of real male American star sports. From the article: 

"Regardless of what you do in life, a standout amongst the most vital things is to be consistent with your identity," Sowers, transparently lesbian, revealed to Outsports when inquired as to why she is talking about her sexual introduction freely surprisingly. "There are such a significant number of individuals who recognize as LGBT in the NFL, as in any business, that don't feel good being open about their sexual introduction. 

"The more we can make a situation that respects a wide range of individuals, regardless of their race, sex, sexual introduction, religion, the more we can help facilitate the torment and weight that many convey each day." 

Sowers, 31, is a pioneer due to her sexual introduction, as well as on the grounds that she's just the second-since forever full-time female NFL mentor, after the Bills' Kathryn Smith in 2016. She'll be a hostile colleague working with wide collectors.
