asically, memory usage gets maxed out too easily (i.e. several minutes into a high definition video); the computer becomes extremely slow; audio even broadcasts in slow motion. Once it gets put in this slow state, it needs to be left alone for a significant period of time to go back to normal, even if I reset it. So, for example, if I reset it, I'll literally have to let it sit and recover, otherwise every single function will take like 5x as long as it should (clicking menus, everytuing..) I recently installed NOD32 (antivirus) and PerfectDisk (defrag) and PerfectRegistry (registry defrag); legitimate, purchased copies. None of these took care of the problem, although I was too impatient to finish the standard defrag as I was in it for like a week and the computer was actually more fragmented afterwards (presumably because I stopped it before it finished). If I work in a fairly limited fashion I don't have this problem, but if I findi myself opening up laods of Internet tabs, I inevitably experience this slow spell. I really shouldn't have to put up with what is essentially a handicap! I'll also note that I've monitored the memory indicator during these slow spells and memory usage does indeed literally sky rocket. There's great memory usage in the background and if I click a menu, boom, it instantly gets boosted. Once again, as long as I use my computer in very limited fashion, it functions smoothly. But take a wrong turn, and it goes into this state..like a drug! Edited by 240779 (01/19/13 04:32 PM) Post Extras: Print Post Remind Me! So was that. Actually let's assume every sentence I write is inherently false Post Extras: Print Post Remind Me! NOD32 is actually known for being one of the most lightweight anti-virus applications. It does constantly scan in the background -- which is good because this saved me from having to bring my computer in for a repair recently!! Post Extras: Print Post Remind Me!
