The company behind virtual reality (VR) video gaming before it's even commenced, PlayStation VR, is finally here - and we are going to quite smitten with it. Sony itself is not surprisingly bullish on the thing, with president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Jim Ryan having said he expects to sell "hundreds of thousands" of units during kick off in an interview with CNBC. But, maybe which somewhat too bullish? All of us honestly just don't know. Sony sure has the dedicated, 40 million-strong set up base and an even more approachable price than its opponents, the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. Once again, but, this isn't yet another accessory or game console. This is an totally new-technology and video gaming category that, despite the aforementioned impressive first efforts, has yet to affect lightning in the same way, say, the Designers Wii did about 10 years ago.
