Pater Pakau, 36, and eight others appeared in Waitakere District Court this afternoon facing serious drug charges. His wife Dianne is a clinician for Waikato DHB, ONE News understands. Members of the Headhunters motorcycle gang were also arrested. It is alleged Pakau, who is based in Henderson, used a police car during his alleged offending. Pakau was denied bail and remanded in custody until June 6. Eight men, aged between 25 and 59, and one 23-year-old woman were arrested and charged this morning, police said. The charges relate to the manufacture, supply and distribution of hard drugs. Other charges include conspiring to commit aggravated robbery, accessing a computer for dishonest purposes and participating in an organised criminal group. Detective Inspector Bruce Scott said the arrests were the culmination of a detailed investigation and reflected the police's commitment to reducing the harm caused by drugs in the community. Pakau has been stood down, pending an investigation.
