Team Liquid’s forum has all the information on the Bitcoin Starcraft Challenge to be held on December 21st, 2013.

Live streaming can be viewed at Total Biscuit’s twitch.tv stream page, and livestreams in different languages are in the works with volunteers still being sought.

This showmatch for 12 BTC, feature’s Canada’s beloved Scarlett versus tenacious Swede Naniwa.  The 12 BTC comes from Bitcoin enthusiasts from around the world that wanted to support Starcraft and Bitcoin with this event.  Specifically Erik Voorhees, Bitcoin Magazine, Roger Ver, and Ludvig Oberg all donated 2 BTC to the event.  Additional Bitcoin was raised from /r/Bitcoin.

Though attention may have been drawn away from this showmatch by recent tumultuous times for the Bitcoin exchange rate, Starcraft is a staple of the online community in a way that Bitcoin should be striving to be.  This is step one.
