But CentOS 6 itself will go end of life on November 20, 2020. I can't imagine cPanel will publish updates for CentOS 6 versions after this date (and it's possible they will cut support before this date). As far as will the server keep working... November 20, 2020 won't be a magical blow up of servers running CentOS 6. They will continue to operate... they just won't get any updates, including security updates. So you are effectively on your own after this date. If a security flaw is discovered in the 2.6 kernel... CentOS isn't going to fix it after November 20, 2020. That's what end of life means. So I would encourage anyone that has CentOS 6 servers to at least be building a plan for moving those servers to CentOS 7. And if you are building a new server... don't use CentOS 6. On November 30, 2020, CentOS will stop supporting CentOS 6 on all systems, including your server. At that time CentOS will no longer provide bug, security, or feature updates. We encourage you to migrate to a server using CentOS 7 before November 30, 2020. Information about cPanel deprecation plan is available in our documentation. Yea, woops, meant November 30th. That statement doesn't necessarily mean cPanel will support CentOS 6 up until the November 30th 2020 date. November 30, 2020 is when CentOS will stop supporting CentOS 6. I don't know if cPanel has actually released a statement regarding their support for CentOS 6. But I'd have to imagine it'd be around November 30th 2020. https://documentation.cpanel.net/dis...eratingsystem?
