The initiative which was in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior was “designed as a partnership, a framework under which the United States and Nigeria can work together to address dynamic security challenges.”
In the earlier address, the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Stuart Symington was expected to attend the inaugural Steering Committee Meeting supposed to be chaired by Minister of Interior, Lt. General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd).
While there are no reasons for the cancellation,it was learnt that Washington was getting increasingly frustrated by the repressive tactics of the current regime.
