Rwenzori Mountains
Another famous mountain range in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is the Rwenzori Mountains. This mountain range is also referred to as the Mountains of the Moon and it is by the border of Uganda and Democratic Republic of the Congo. The elevation of the mountains is at 5,109 meters or 16,762 feet. Within the mountain range are two national parks – the Rwenzori Mountains National Park (UNESCO site) and Virunga National Park. The length of the range is 75 miles or 120 kilometers.
