It is a VERY BIG DEAL. OVER BIG DEAL SEF. HOW MANY NIGERIANS CAN EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH???? I've lived here almost 19 years. I have Yoruba friends. My grade school was in Ikoyi,Lagos. I go to the market. I work in Lagos. I still cannot communicate in clear cut Yoruba. I'm not one tenth as coherent as this Oyibo. It is a very big deal. And I don't know the kind of places you go to or if you've ever been abroad, but everytime a Nigerian speaks a foreign language such as German, Chinese etc there is always that extra warmth and camaraderie from the owners of the language, why? Because it is a BIG DEAL.
