My money site is getting destroyed in the SERPs, is this some kind of algo penalty? so I have this one money site (6 years old) that did have stable positions for years. Most of the keywords were in #1-3 without any movements. Then starting with April this year I am getting hammered lower and lower in the serps. ++++++++++++++ list of top cheapest host http://Listfreetop.pw Top 200 best traffic exchange sites http://Listfreetop.pw free link exchange sites list http://Listfreetop.pw list of top ptc sites list of top ptp sites Listfreetop.pw Listfreetop.pw +++++++++++++++ I lost around 2/3 of my visitors and income. Most of my keywords went from #1-3 to #12-20. All across the domain, even for pages with low competition keywords that I ranked without any effort for the whole time and with no backlink. My PBNs are ranking fine, even went a bit higher after the June core update. For one important KW i literally own 56 domains out of the TOP 150 results. Crazy, right? Even with all those links I am sitting at like #10. Previously I was #1-2. Onpage is fine, did the whole WDF*IDF thing, 100/100 speed score for desktop and mobile etc. . Does it sound like some kind of algo penalty? I did have a really high percentage of partial/exact match anchor text links coming from my PBNs. Perhaps thats the cause. So I went back and edited most of them to be brand anchor text (and some naked url with variations etc.). Will this fix the issue? If yes - how long could it take till the new anchor ratio is recalculated? I have done it like 2-3 weeks ago. The last edit was indexed like 5 days ago though. I did have a more balanced anchor text ratio in the past but I edited it to be more aggressive in August-September '18. It did make a small boost and then in April '19 it really went south. Not sure if it could have such a delayed response though, basically around 6 months. My traffic and ranks dropped 40-50% and conversions dropped by 99%. I'm getting complete zombie traffic. Niche? You need to make sure that Google recrawls your sites after you make changes, and indexes them. Partly why it takes so long for changes to have an effect is that Google doesn't crawl pages that often. I believe you’ll be back in the next update. I really hope that it will be the same case with my site. Please don't tell me that you changed the anchor text from exact match to something else? Yeah, I changed it from exact match to brand anchor text. Why not? I changed the anchor text multiple times in the past without any problems. Of course I create the new anchor text in another part of the article, add some new words, perhaps change the URL of the article itself etc. so it looks like a regular update of the article, which is natural. Also look at this article from reputable Gotch SEO about this issue. Google started hunting websites in it since August. check your E-A-T I know about E-A-T and my site should have all the needed things to comply. I did read through the search quality guidelines. And my site was never penalized anywhere near August. I cant rule it out completely but I dont think EAT is the issue here. have you thought about your competitors doing something that has helped them with increasing ranking? I dont think it could be something that the competitors did. The chance that all of my competitors did something all at once to move me from example #1 to #15 is really low. I could understand 1-3 positions but not such a big drop all across the domain/keywords. Have you updated your content recently? No, not really. Added some new articles in April, but that's it. Just checked another important KW. In the TOP 100 search results I do have 26 PBN sites. Each of those sites link back to my money site. My money site sits at #11. How is it possible? Could Google be just ignoring my PBN links? But not sure why though, if the PBN domains do rank for the particular keyword. Any help would be appreciated. However I can tell you that your E.A.T. signals are most likely the problem. And not just on-page signals. Have you built out your brand? How diverse is your backlink set? Any links from major authority sites in your niche?
