Can Having too many redirect URLS from footer result in bad SEO?
I have a website where too many redirected URLs(around 100) are there from footer menu. I suggested client to simply URL's and minimize the footer links. Is this the good idea? Having too many redirected links can hamper my website performance and impact SEO?

I mean I have 50+ links in footer whose URLs are changed and redirected to new urls(structuring changed for URLS)

It doesn't matter how many redirects you do. As long as you do them properly.


Make 301 redirects if you want to redirect the old URLs to the new one. And. make all the links nofollow otherwise it can hurt your SEO. Because many links in Footer are not considered good.


Too many links in the footer can be interpreted by the search engines as "footer spam."
