Arsenal, Khimki, Ufa, Rostov, and the Ural wrote a letter to the RPL asking them to consider introducing a moratorium on relegation in the Tinkoff RPL season 2021/22, Match TV reports. All 16 clubs must retain their places in the Tinkoff RPL for the next season, and the league is proposed to be increased to 18 clubs: in the 2022/23 season, the two best clubs of the Olymp-FNL Championship will join 16 teams. The relegation moratorium will be lifted in the 2022/23 season. A number of RPL clubs came up with a proposal to cancel the limit on foreign players from the new season. Now the RPL has a limit on legionnaires "8 + 17", in which the team's application for the season can have no more than eight foreign players. The RFU plans such a reform: 13 legionnaires in the application and 8 on the field, as well as 4 pupils of the academy (36 months in the club from 14 to 18 years old) + 8 pupils of any other Russian school. RPL clubs will meet to discuss these issues at a meeting on March 11.
