Should I go and buy my own server and install an email server and a software to manage the emails account with this amount of $2472? Is it worth to find other alternative and save some money or even get more giga byte for the same price? Should I go for dedi or clouds? Your thoughts please. Thank you Should I go and buy my own server and install an email server and a software to manage the emails account with this amount of $2472? If you are not skilled enough to manage your server, you might not want to go for a server, even if it is a managed server. There is more than meets the eye when it comes to sever management and keeping a server healthy. It demands lots of experience and skill. Is it worth to find other alternative and save some money or even get more giga byte for the same price? Email is not about storage. It's about spam filtering for the most part. Then comes finding an email that is 5 years old. For me, these are the two most important features of email. However, your can vary. If you have found a provider that meets your requirement and offers more storage at the same time, and offers a money back guarantee, you could give them a try. Do you recommend any? We have been using G Suite for quite a while now. At $0.5 / month per user, don't think you will get a better deal from a email hosting provider, especially with more space in mind. Can you save a bit of money using a dedicated with Zimbra (community edition) or another email platform? Maybe depending on what provider and hardware, any server management costs, any software costs, backup systems, etc. Same thing would apply to the cloud server, but at 2 TB it will likely cost a good bit and if you were doing cloud, why not spread the load among different mail stores? Both options still go over budget of $206 / month at least 2 TB of usable storage. Also, to get the same 2 TB of storage, you will need to have disks large enough for that plus what the system will take. -Steven | u2-web@Cooini, LLC - Business Shared Hosting | Isolate sites with Webspaces | Site Builder | PHP-FPM | MariaDB WHMCS Modules: Staff Knowledgebase | Custom Modules and Hooks "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it" -Aristotle At this price rate, the best would be to rent your own cloud server to have more control, space and flexibility over your email ecosystem. Clearly there're a few more things to have into account like: Antispam System and Backup solution. If you don't want to take care of the support yourself, the mail plan you're right now could still be a very well priced solution. Happy to learn more about your needs in order to provide better insights. He needs 2TB space and for cloud, it is more expensive so dedicated server is better with Sata drives. At this price rate, the best would be to rent your own cloud server to have more control, space and flexibility over your email ecosystem. I think expensive. No Exchange. Smartmail or Zimbra. What system does ResellerClub uses? I just need to look for Antispam. Do you recommend any? I will take care of support. Depending on the cloud provider you will contract you may be able to find such a solution for the price range mentioned above. Clearly cloud will give you way more flexibility to upgrade disk and resources when needed, and usualy a better and more reliable backup solution, not even considering the ability to not rely on a single point of failure on the hardware anymore. I don’t know what the mailserver behind Resellerclub is, but Zimbra could be your best bet if you don’t want to have an additional per user license cost (depending on the version). In terms of antispam systems, here in Dade2 we use both Symantec and Spamexperts (other than the standard Spamassasin). It mainly depends to the level of spam your accounts are getting and the level of flexibility you want to get in terms of configurations and fine-tuning (and the price tag you are willing to pay for that). No Exchange. Smartmail or Zimbra. What system does ResellerClub uses? They are likely either using a custom solution or something like those you just mentioned. So, why don't you want those? If it is pricing, then Zimbra does have a community edition that has no costs and handles regular mail features without issue. -Steven | u2-web@Cooini, LLC - Business Shared Hosting | Isolate sites with Webspaces | Site Builder | PHP-FPM | MariaDB WHMCS Modules: Staff Knowledgebase | Custom Modules and Hooks "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it" -Aristotle No Exchange. Smartmail or Zimbra. What system does ResellerClub uses? ResellerClub uses Open-Xchange afaik. https://www.open-xchange.com I recommend you to use Zimbra community edition with SpamExperts enabled on your domain. SE Licenses are available from $2 per domain for unlimited emails. And backup use a snapshot backup either using R1Soft or Acronis (cheaper) or if you really care about real time backup, spend ZExtras Backup (but would cost around $2000 for 400+ even after negotiation, though you may need to check the possibility of using your own backup storage.) Altogether your total costs would come down to somewhere from $800-$1200, depending on your server configuration and also whether it is in Hetzner/OVH/Online.net or LiquidWeb/RackSpace (you got it!) Our most popular plan - https://www.supportsages.com/per-server-support/ Do not rent a dedicated server if you're planning to use it for email. There's no way a newbie can make the server good enough to send to all email providers and even less of a chance to make it send to inbox. At that price, I'd get G Suite. If you want something at a lower price, you have Zoho at $1/month/user, we've been using them and they're awesome. Thank you For that amount of email you would want to spread the load across more then one server. I would suggest finding a Microsoft partner and moving to Office365 this will give you 50 GB per mailbox and you can get optional Microsoft Office licenses thrown in as part of the bundle as well. Plus partners can give you bulk discounts. They can also assist with the migration of your email from your existing provider. CPK Web Services Fully managed website hosting for every business. I should quickly point out actually, with Office365 the Business licenses only go up to 300 users, so you actually need to buy the Enterprise licenses for over 300 users. But still any Microsoft partner can assist with this and offer discounts for that many licenses. CPK Web Services Fully managed website hosting for every business. Get in touch https://www.cpkws.com.au/contact-us.php Guys, G Suite or Office 365, while offering more features, would cost way more than $0.50 / mailbox / mo. The price seems right to me, if your happy with service, considering server management, support, backup. You can pay less on low cost infrastructure if you build things yourself, but you need the know-how and to spend time configuring and maintaining things. https://mxroute.com/ is what you're looking for.
