Is there any solution a little more high tec? By using yourself as a defacto ground you risk a shock if you step into a puddle, or grab a grounded piece of metal. while there aren't many artists who've given their lives for their craft you up your odds significantly by making a ground that could travel through your chest (left hand through the chest cavity to whereever you've grounded your cable). It takes about a quarter of an amp to kill.
