What is the maximum distance of the controller and video feed? Calibrating the Wizard If the Wizard is not directing the aircraft properly, it may be necessary to calibrate the Wizard. What I've always lacked is a good gimbal, getting it to work right and a decent camera. This procedure could of course have been done remotely. The firmware did become available for the earlier models. My other option is to just return the H now and see if a firmware ever gets released. Guys that fly Helos are called Helicopters not drones even though they can perform civil like the H can. Yuneec sent me a license update to disable the NFZ fencing on the drone. They are around the same price but what about the matchup before I shell out 1500 bucks. After much research and debate between the P4 and Responsible H, I ordered a Typhoon H. These forums have been very informative. The additional accessories may wrequire a factory calibration to allow for a seamless integration. For example, I live inside the NFZ imposed by your software of my local airport. Maybe it is Yuneec's policy or an la, we don't know. No Fly Zone vs Firmware - I'm seeing lots of happy videos without a lot of details that I want before buying an H or a Phantom 4. According to Q500 instruction, they set a radius of no-fly zone from ALL airports in all countries to 4 miles about 6. According to the law in the Netherlands no-fly zone is only 3 km: See Artikel 2. The problem is that I live in 5 km from Eindhoven airport, so I cannot fly nearby my house, because my Q500 cannot start. I tried to switch off GPS, but it is only relevant for Q500 itself, not for ST10. That is why outdoor if ST10 could catch GPS I could not start Q500. I was not satisfied with that. But I tried that only before Firmware update and I don't know if the problem is still there with a new Firmware. So my questions: 1. Is it possible to switch off GPS also on ST10? Is it possible to reset no-fly zone radius accroding to local law? I tried to contact to EU Yuneec support by e-mail, but got no reply but got several recommendations from US support to contact to EU support According to Q500 instruction, they set a radius of no-fly zone from ALL airports in all countries to 4 miles about 6. I have had to pass on a few shoots because the buildings are within the no-fly zone as are HUGE swaths of the city - our airports are not way out in the boonies. We also have two AMA model plane airfields, which are both within a no-fly. No other modelers have issues flying there. I cannot even arm the motors. I'd rather not have to buy a different quad to get around this - I love the Q500+ in all other respects. Has anyone seen any updates on this..? But if I have an FAA exemption and have clearance to fly within a 5 mile radius as long as I'm under even 200 feet, is there any way to disable the GPS on both the transmitter and the quad? I've done months of research on the Q500 series as well as the Phantom's and I really like Yuneec because of all their extra features and accessories, but if I will never be able to fly at the main place where I shoot my videos, then I might have to go with a Phantom 3. The only way to disable the no fly zone would be to open your ST10+ and disconnect the wire going to the GPS. This would be one of the dumbest things ever to do. First you would need to be a excellent pilot to fly with out GPS and second you better have the best liability insurance for when you crash and hurt someone or damage their property. Once they found out you where flying in a no fly zone and disabled the safety features built into the Q500 your screwed. I looked into exactly how DJI enforces their no fly zones, and I think they have a much more reasonable approach than Yunnec does at the moment... I really hope Yuneec will decide to do something similar, because I really want to get a Q500 instead of a Phantom! Here's a video showing how their no fly zone limits work. Yuneec told me today that I need a 333 FAA exemption to fly in a no fly zone, even if the ATC tower is OK with it. This is something I should have researched more. There are a lot more airports than I thought. Flying 50 feet above a park poses no risk at all to commercial or private aircraft. They should limit the altitude instead of not letting the motors arm at all. I returned the product because of this same reason. It would not arm the motors in a no fly zone even if i was only planning to go up-to 20 feet in the air. And I'm asking this as a complete newcomer to Yuneec products my intention is to buy the Typhoon H...
