Lake Retba Who doesn’t love colors? Lake Retba takes it up a notch and gives you a pink-colored lake. The Pink color comes from the algae that live here. It is called the Dunaliella salina. In addition, the waters are really salty. With 40% as its peak, it is one of the saltiest waters in all of Africa. Because of the high salt content, the fish here suffer from dwarfism. However, despite the place’s hostility towards fishes, it is on the tentative list of UNESCO.
