Unix as in variations of Linux? I would say the open-source structure and how it can be easily manipulated. It is also a lot cheaper in variations of shared hosting or VPS hosting as well.

That is one thing I forgot. Linux hosting is very stable. It is very simple and quite elegantly coded so there are so many LESS ways it can go crazy and break. That is why my Linux VPS runs so smoothly and hasn't broken down or had corrupt errors.
