Moscow. March 11th. - The Ukrainian city of Volnovakha has been taken under control by a group of troops from the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the RF Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov.

He also said that units of the People's Militia of the DPR continue to tighten the ring around the Ukrainian city of Mariupol . "The total advance from the eastern, northern and western directions was up to 800 meters," Konashenkov said.

In addition, according to a representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, on the morning of March 11, military infrastructure facilities in Ukraine were hit by long-range precision weapons. As a result, military airfields in the western Ukrainian cities of Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk were disabled.

According to Konashenkov, the Russian military shot down three Ukrainian Mi-24 combat helicopters and eight drones, including five Turkish-made Bayraktars, in a day.

"In total, during the operation, 3,213 military infrastructure facilities of Ukraine were put out of action. 98 aircraft, 118 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1,041 tanks and other armored combat vehicles were destroyed," a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Operational-tactical and army aviation hit 107 objects of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Including: six command and control centers and communication centers, 14 ammunition and fuel and lubricants, 11 places where military equipment accumulates," a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry said.

He said that during the operation, the Russian military also destroyed 113 multiple launch rocket systems, 389 field artillery guns and mortars, 843 units of special military vehicles.
