Bandiagara Escarpment
The Bandiagara Escarpment is one of the famous tourist destinations in Mali which is also known as the Cliffs of Bandiagara. Known as Land of the Dogons, it is a steep sandstone cliff situated in the Mopti Region of Mali and has an area of 4,000 square kilometers or 1,500 square miles. Its official name as per UNESCO is Cliff of Bandiagara (Land of the Dogons) and it was designated as World Heritage Site with criteria of v and vii in 1989.
