It's possible and it depend also on the niche but I still like ads better for the reason that u can speed up the process and see if a product work or not

Because Google can change their algorithms and it will punish you. Always provide quality content. Always get real backlinks that you actually earned. If your plan is to game Google's algorithm, then if you have any success, it will be short lived.
