This great river completes an important ecological formation that is known as the Anambra Imo River Basin Development Authority (AIRBDA). 
This majestic river meanders through rich grasslands to empty its treasure into the Niger after nourishing acres of surrounding farmlands and providing a huge means of subsistence to numerous communities and settlements that mass themselves along its path. 
Viewing from the skies, Omambala is like poetry in motion. Its snaky movement speaks of a contoured journey with low trees dotting either sides if its banks as though nature had taken time to set up a delicate garden and dug a fantastic irrigation through it. 
Omambala's ethereal beauty compares to the charm of a lovely damsel whose very presence is a treasure to anyone who comes in close contact with her.
