When I did my NYSC they posted me to Ondo. I was posted to Govt. House for three months. We were 4 corpers there and they have us flat with dstv, gas cooker, fully furnished. I enjoyed small sha and other corpers envied us 😂 i even used to write articles in the sunshine magazine praising Mimiko and that won me a small cash prize before i left. but I couldn't stay for long. Ask me why? The deadness of the town and small money looking like millions.
The one that hit me was when i and a fellow Govt House corper friend (guy) went to market to buy foodstuff. So we took a cab back home cos we had contributed for the month and the food was much. We now started talking about cars and pointing at the ones we saw on the road - calling prices. Just normal gist to kill time. The cab guy just parked by one bus stop and said he wants to get something. Next thing he came back with police that they should arrest us that we are doing yahoo. That we were calling big money in his car. That who dash these small children money to be talking about big cars. That they should interrogate us. Ask me which big cars? Honda baby boy and toyota pencil light. Police now said we should follow him to station that we should show our ID and all. The only thing that saved us was the NYSC uniform we wore cos we were just returning from CDS. Despite that the man said he won't carry us anywhere. That we are criminals and we should change because the end time is near 😂. Now dropped us there with our foodstuff. My guy just dey laugh my own face had turned red out of anger. But that was the day i decided i won't finish my service in Ondo.
