Camila Cabello has clarified why she and Shawn Mendes cut off their two-year friendship.

In November 2021, the pop stars uncovered they had separated by means of a joint assertion they shared on their individual Instagram pages.

"Hello folks we've chosen to cut off our heartfelt friendship, however, our affection for each other as people is more grounded than any time in recent memory," their posts read.

Presently, during a meeting with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Cabello shed light on the thinking of why they separated.

"As I age, the needs shift," she said, adding: "And I feel prefer it was as such for the two of us.

"We both began so youthfully, as well. It's like we're truly figuring out how to be sound grown-ups."

The vocalist and Cinderella entertainer went on by saying her "center has changed all through" her life.

"I love Shawn, and I feel like there is in a real sense only love for him. I'm at last where I feel like I've had encounters - I'm doing the treatment, I've invested a great deal of energy. My concentrate truly has moved a ton."

Mendes, 23, and Cabello, 24, started dating in July 2019, not long after they delivered their hit single "Señorita" in June.

Bits of gossip about a sentiment started after they originally worked together on the 2015 single "I Know What You Did Last Summer".

Mendes recently conceded that he didn't realize he was enamored with Cabello for quite a while.

In a meeting with James Corden last year, Mendes responded to a 2015 clasp of him denying they were dating.

"By the day's end, we're simply companions," the vocalist had said at that point.

Examining the clasp, Mendes told Corden: "I didn't acknowledge that I was totally enamored with her for an additional three years after that point, however, it's so clear all over not too far off."

In their separation posts, Mendes and Cabello let fans know that they "began their relationship as dearest companions" and "will keep on being dearest companions" presently.

"We so like your help all along, and pushing ahead," they added.
