China court refuses same-sex union recognition

A Chinese court has ruled against a couple's same-sex marriage in the country's first such case. A couple, from China's Hunan province, had filed a lawsuit after authorities refused to recognise their marriage last June. The couple said that the court was "too cautious" and that it had not taken enough time to consider the case.
