'Dangal' becomes first film on TV with audio description for visually-impaired audiences

Aamir Khan's film 'Dangal' has become the first film to be aired on TV with an audio description for visually-impaired audiences. The audio description of the film was completed by the NGO Saksham, which has been working in the field for around 14 years. It has done audio tracks for over 40 movies including 'PK' and 'Black'.
Rummi Seth, founder and managing trustee, Saksham, says, "It took us over two months to do the audio description of 'Dangal'. What people don't realise is that entertainment is as important for a differently-abled person as it is for us." She adds that after 'Dangal', they are going to start work on 'Hindi Medium', 'Airlift' and 'Raag Desh'. A screening of 'Dangal' was also organised for differently-abled children along with the annual screening of National Award-winning films at Siri Fort in April.
