  12. Here's how to replace your circuit breaker: Shut off the branch circuit breakers one at a time. Shut off the main circuit breaker. Test all the wires with a voltage tester to make sure they're dead before proceeding. Remove the panel cover. Disconnect the wire of the breaker you're removing from the load terminal.

  14. 9 Dec 2017 Step 3: Remove the Old Circuit Breaker. Now that the cover is off, locate the breaker to be replaced. 16. Steps. Find the main circuit breaker box. Locate the defective breaker. Use a voltage tester to see if power is going out through the wire attached to the breaker. Turn off the branch breaker boxes, followed by the main power. Turn off the individual breakers. Inspect the exterior of the panel.
  17. Blowing a fuse or tripping a circuit breaker is a relatively common issue, especially if you like to vacuum, listen to music and microwave popcorn at the same time. If you overload a circuit, your system will cut off the electrical flow to prevent circuit damage or a fire. Follow these steps to restore power and get those appliances
  18. For simple additions, such as installing an extra receptacle, you may be able to extend an existing circuit. As long as adding the load doesn't exceed the circuit breaker's amperage rating, you can splice wires leading to the new receptacle to the circuit's existing wire. But if you're wiring a new room or installing a
  19. Opening the main circuit breaker panel box and installing a new circuit is actually pretty easy. You only have to connect three wires, and each is color-coded. But there are some safety precautions, and if you ignore them, you could kill yourself. Really. If you follow our safety steps in order and to the letter, you'll be fine.
