How to Measure Roof Pitch Angle?
Knowing the pitch of your roof is beneficial when designing an addition, putting in skylights, or reducing new rake boards. Here’s an easy, protected way to decide the pitch from internal your attic.
To measure the roof pitch, you’ll want an 18- or 24-inch level, a tape measure, and a pencil.
First, measure 12 inches from one stop of the stage and make a mark.
Then, in the attic, area the give up of the degree towards the backside of a roof rafter and maintain it flawlessly level.
Now measure vertically from the 12-inch mark on the stage straight up to the underside of the rafter, as illustrated. That size is the range of inches the roof rises in 12 inches.
