NATURAL DISASTERS

Natural disasters are events like storms, bushfires, eathquakes, 
tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, or floods, that causes major damage 
and loss of lives. Scientist say we can not stop natural disasters…. 
hope one day we can!








I choose volcanoes for my report because 
I visited two during my holidays








So what are volcanoes?

Volcanoes  are   mountains or hills, or vents that allow lava, rock fragments and gases to escape from layers beneath the earth's surface. 




What's the cons of Volcanic eruptions

Loss of lives
Loss of agriculture
Destroy cities, towns, communities.
Displace populations.
Major loss of economy
Unemplyment
Generate tsunamis
Health problems - physical, mental, emotional





What are the benefits of volcanic eruption.

Create new islands and land (e.g. Hawaii, islands in New Zealand, Indonesia…)
Provide habitat to new species (e.g. plants, fish)
Create new mineral deposits.
Create beautiful landscapes.
