(GUIDE ) HOW TO DO KEYWORDS RESEARCH AND RANK YOUR NEW WEBSITE 2021. I know most of bhw users already know the stuff I'm gonna write about in this thread however i decided to share How i do Keyword Research for a new website and rank it fast without backlinks. YES, We are gonna use KGR keywords for this because thats how i do it for my new sites. Ofc, first you will have to choose the niche for your website. In this thread I'm gonna use 'Home Design' niche. So you have the niche, you buy a good domain and buy hosting for your site. Now most of people think that Google likes to rank fast websites but dosn't like slow websites. I Suggest you install a simple theme so your site will load fast. In my case, i Like to use GeneratePress theme for my new websites because it's really fast. @RoiBox shared the premium version of GeneratePress, check it out since I'm using it myself. For Seo plugin i suggest you install RankMath instead of Yoast. The free version of RankMath is better than Yoast in my eyes. (Choose which ever you like, the free version of Rankmath gives a lot of options) Change Rankmath settings to your likings, I like to turn 404 error ON so i can see 404 error pages and i Like to turn off Archives of Author. I like to change the Categories titles from : %term% %sep% %sitename% to %sitename% %sep% %term%. Setup instant indexing in Bing with your Bing API key. Setup sitemap and submit your sitemap url to GSC and Bing webmaster tools. Edit everything to your likings and make your website ready to publish articles. Now when everything is ready for you to start publishing articles, follow my steps on HOW I DO KEYWORD RESEARCH AND USE KGR KEYWORDS TO RANK FAST WITH 0 BACKLINKS For this thread i took 'Home design' as my niche for example. I use SEMRUSH to do keyword research, you can use any other tool you own or like. Ok, first i go to google and search for the biggest or one of the biggest website in my niche by googling 'Home design'. (You have to use your niche) Ok now i found a website called Houzz, i copy the url and put it in Semrush 'Backlink Analytics' to see how many keywords the website ranks for. I Can see this site has 8.1M Keywords so it's good (The more keywords the better the site is to do our keyword research). I Click on the keywords number, i choose the country of keywords US (since we want to rank for US keywords), and click Positions. We still have 5.1Million keywords for US, so we have to bring the number of keywords down to 10-500 in our specific niche (Remember 'Home Design' was a big niche, the site we build gonna be a lot more specific). First, let me explain what KGR Keywords are: Basically you take a keyword and find the Search volume of that keyword. For a keyword to be KGR it needs to have a search volume of 250 or lower. Second you go in google and search this: allintitle: 'Your Keyword' (Put your keyword in Your Keyword) and find how many results you get for your keyword. Now you have the search volume and the number of results what you will have to do to find out if the keyword is KGR is to use this formula: Number of results of allintitle / Search Volume <= 0.25 (So the number of results you got from google divided by the number of search volume for that keyword need to be equal or below 0.25) IF you get results below or equal 0.25 than that keyword is KGR Click to expand... Now we know what KGR keywords are lets get back to get the number of keywords down to 10-500 for our research. What i do is first into the 'Volume' box i choose custom and type the volume from 0 to 250 (Remember: Only keywords with 250 Search Volume or lower can be KGR). Now we still got more than 4 Million keywords, next i put Keyword Difficulty to 'Very Easy' (0%-14%). Remember: You can still find KGR Keywords with higher difficulty but i like to choose a Very Easy KD because these paid tools have a formula with which they calculate the difficulty of keywords so the easier the better for our new website. I can see i still got a big number of keywords in the results, what i do to lower the number of keywords next? We want to find keywords with buyer intent, so keywords that will bring people who are looking to buy things so what i do is click 'Advanced filters' and Use the filter 'Include' like this: Include Keyword Containing Best (I use the keyword BEST to filter the keywords so we get keywords with buying intent) What did we do? We filtered all those keywords to find keywords that contain the word BEST, but still we got a high number of keywords so what next? Important: Remember when i said that Home Design is a big niche and with our new sites we have to target very specific niches or sub-niches if we want to rank in the serps. Now this is the step when i filter the keywords to match my Niche. I click on 'Advanced filters' and filter the keywords with: Include Keyword Containing 'Your Niche' (In my case for Home Design i decided to go with the niche : Chair), meaning i decided to make a website about chairs. You have to put your niche instead of Chair. After filtering the keywords with my niche keyword 'Chair' i got the keywords down from 5Milion (in the beggining) to 50 Keywords. So i Found 50 keywords from 5 Milion that match my niche 'Chair', contain the keyword 'best', have equal or lower search volume than 250 and KD is Very EAsy. What next? Next, we have to search if these 50 keywords are KGR with the formula i gave you in the beggining. We are down to 50 keywords and we have to search them on google one by one with Allintitle to get the number of results. Example: For this i used this keyword: Best chairs for around a fire pit Semrush shows 210 search volume for this keyword and the number of allintitle results from google is: About 5 results With the formula: allintitle results number (5 in this case) / search volume (210 in this case) it gave me results = 0.023 which is lower than 0.25 so this keyword is KGR. GREAT we found a kgr keyword, now go ahead and repeat this for all 50 keywords we found and found out which of them are KGR and save them in a notepad or excel file. Now you have the keywords you gonna use for your website articles what next? What i like to do next is before writing an article for the keyword is go back to google and search the keyword again with allintitle query and find the page which is ranking number 1. In this case a website called Okpatio is ranking first so i went ahead and click it. Now when i'm in the article i copy all the text by clicking 'CTRL + A' and copy it with 'CTRL + C' and go to wordcounter.net (i use this website to count the number of words used in that article). Paste all the text in the box and see how many words the guy used for that article. In my case the article contains more than 4000 words so i would have to write a 4000 words article to be able to outrank this guy (pretty tough since i am a bad writer lol). Now you have the KGR keywords, search them all and look at the pages ranking first and check their word count. Remember, for each Keyword you decide to use it would be good if you write more words than the article ranking first even though that's not a must to outrank other pages but your site is new so it will be difficult to outrank them with lower word count. So thats it, thats how i do my keyword research and find good KGR keywords which will rank pretty fast. Now for the SEO part, i would suggest to read other threads here in BHW that explain really great how to do On-Page seo for your articles. RankMath is really great tool that will help you so much. Remember: KGR Keywords i found this way are really likely (not for sure) to rank really fast your new website with no backlinks at all. It worked for me for almost every KGR keyword i found but not every keyword will rank. There are times when this doesn't work however its more likely to rank than not. I hope you liked this guide on how to do keyword research for new website that you want to rank without building backlinks. ◦
