I always love this male entitlement that because I went to university, got a decent job and am doing ok-ish I deserve the life of a rock star or at the very least one hot woman to appreciate my slightly above Joe Average lifestyle. It’s always the same, it’s the job is the main selling point, the trump card, these guys can’t wait to tell any woman what they do…and get really pissed about it when she isn’t as impressed as they are. Might be because – news flash – this is 2010 and like as not the woman has as good a job if not better than you do, and if not her lifestyle won’t be all that different: she’ll have her own place in a nice neighbourhood, a car, nice clothes and holidays abroad too, there’s a financial scale of course, applies to all of us but I’m not really all that much jealous of the guy who earns twice as me. Like I say, we’ve comparable lifestyles and the difference isn’t that apparent. Thus why the fuck should your average woman be impressed with what you’re bringing to the table, Mike, when it’s what just about everyone else is too for the type of woman you’re no doubt interested in? And look around in your pleasant suburban surroundings, similar geeks will be managing to meet women, get married and get laid. Guess women have just singled you out huh?
