Sharjah: A 23-year-old Emirati man was killed on Tuesday morning when his vehicle crashed into a truck, Sharjah Police said on Tuesday.

Police said the accident occurred due to speeding which caused the driver to lose control over his vehicle and crash into another on Emirates Road.

The driver was transferred to Khalifa Hospital in Ajman where he was later pronounced dead, said the police.

Initial investigations showed that the truck was in the correct lane when the speeding driver, who was behind the truck, lost control of his vehicle and smashed into it.

Sharjah Police urged the public, especially young drivers, to adopt good driving practices.
