The government railway police (GRP) arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly kissing a government officer at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on Friday. The man, who is daily wage worker, had been stalking her for the past two days, said a GRP officer. He kissed her when she was talking to a colleague on the phone at platform number 6 of the CSMT station, said the officer. She was waiting for a train to her residence in Navi Mumbai. The GRP officer said that the woman was shocked and raised an alarm after which railway protection force officers arrested him. He was handed over to the GRP police. “The woman works with the government and had come to CST for a week on an assignment. She was not known to the man,” said Sanjay Shinde, senior police inspector of GRP (CSMT). The man has been booked under Section 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code. The GRP said that although there were many CCTV cameras on the platform, the incident was not captured as most of them were not working or did not cover all parts of the station.
