Decent/affordable VPS with higher RAM options?
I tested out a Vultr VPS for my Rust game server, and it ran well but the 8GB RAM is not going to be enough, unfortunately. Bumping up to 16 takes the cost from $40/mo to over $80, which is just out of my price range.

The thing is, I don't need a bump in all the specs, just RAM. I can get away with a 3.2GHz CPU and relatively little bandwidth & SSD space. Are there any that aren't terrible that will let me add more RAM without having to spend more for extra resources that I don't need? Preferably with central US server options.
contact vultr team if they increase 2-4 gb ram you need.
if you increase your budget, instead of 16 ram vps in $80 i recommend you go with dedicated server instead of vps .

Correct but you have all the power resources though with dedi. And with game server, it is recommended to get it with ddos protection.
