Mutta muutama oma ajatuskin... If you are a laphroaig fan stick with the triple wood, 10yr and quarter cask. Good and complex aftertaste. Quite gentle long after taste, not aggressive at all. Nose - Immediate smell of coffee, with caramels, vanilla, a little resinous and sappy perhaps. It tastes like a watered down triple wood. In single malt viski alko, regional differences in the style and flavour of malt whiskies has more to do with tradition how a note is made in one place or another than terroir, and although it is not possible to make a malt with identical character to another in a different distillery, it is possible to imitate a regional style out-with the region in question. Itsekin olisin tälläistä laajaa listaa kaivannut aloittaessani. Little bit short aftermath, which is not surprising because of its age. Between half an hour or more in the air, the smokiness fades and is replaced by aromatic rose aroma, ethyl laureate, suggesting the turbo maturation has left this. Smokehead Reviews - Joku Balvenie DoubleWood tai Glenfiddich 12 yo voisivat olla tutustumiseen hieman erilaisia, mutta hyviä esimerkkejä tästä. Very good, easy sipper Malty, fruity, strong pears and zesty but just a tad. It is quite similar to Bushmills 10 single malt but smoother towards the end, I prefer it over B10. Minuscule drop of water releases more fragrance but at 40% it's still robust, just don't exaggerate with the water. It's delicious, very good nose, mid finish, what's not to like? I don't always agree with Jim Murray, after all he scored uigeadail under 90 this year, which is madness. On the other hand, this is everything he's written. It's a belter for the money. There's plenty of people whose first collection are right up there in the Islay months bathers that are supposedly only to be appreciated by experienced drinkers, utter bollocks. There is no such thing as beginners whisky, it's a patronising pile of shite! It tastes great and it's cheap as chips. You won't go wrong buying yourself a bottle to enjoy the smoothness, taste, and light complexities. I always have one on my shelf. It's not like some of the finer scotch out there, but it does very well for itself. There's a lot going on. If you pour a generous dram to sip slowly it develops nicely in the glass. Malty on the nose, sweet and slightly citrus. Green apples, toffee apple, orange peel, slightly sweet. Long finish, hint of nuttiness about it sometimes which is nice. For me, there's quite a lot to experience in this whisky and it's very easy to drink. One I suspect is very easy to find yourself at the bottom of quite quickly. Can you believe that this is often cheaper than the awful Glenlivet Founders Reserve? This is an outstanding whisky for the price. The quality is on par with Glenfiddich 12 although it is less fruity with more malt and caramel notes. You can't go wrong with this one. I found this whiskey to be very smooth and mellow, with medium complexity and a nice after-taste. Was not great at the time. Good and complex aftertaste. Just needs a few drops of water to open up. Seems to me like a good malt for people who are starting savouring malt whisky as a hobby. For the price, you won't be able to find much better. I've had the glen grant majors reserve and thought that one was pretty bad and almost didn't buy this one because of that but the price was so good that I gave it a shot. Could not believe how much of a difference there was between the two. Just spend a few bucks more and get this one as there's no comparison. This whiskey is easily worth twice the price. I had the pleasure of visiting Scotland this Christmas. My Scottish friends gave me a bottle of this whisky to bring home. I just had some, and I'm already a fan. It's very smooth and has a nice mellow taste. I'll probably keep a bottle on hand from here on because it has a nice warmth to it. I'm unabashedly a single malt fan and 3 of my absolute favorites are Talisker Storm, Highland Park 15 yr old, and Lagavulin 16 yr old! I didn't know I'd add a fourth until I just tried this whiskey.... That was until I discovered the Glen grant. Personally I prefer nonpeaty and light whisky when paired with a good cigar so that I can enjoy a good puff. When not having a cigar my choice would be a good Ardberg or Laphroaig.
