I have been with Stablehost since 2015 and I found them to be an excellent company with fantastic customer service, my first issue came when they changed their ticket system. Gone was the fast and quick responses I used to have, but as I rarely needed assistance it wasn't something I noticed much. As my site grew bigger I contacted them the other week regarding upgrading to a VPS. They came back with a price that wasn't really competitive or took into account that I was an existing customer with them. When I enquired if they could do a better deal I just received a very static reply that didnt even awnser my question. I gather the customer service and technical side are now outsourced, sadly for Stablehost these people do not rerally care enough to keep exsiting customers or intice them with encouragmeent when things to go wrong. I looked around at alternatives and came across a company on WHT called Linuxfox. I was a little apprehensive at first because I couldn't find any reviews on them. A few people had enquired but nothing more was ever really said. I did notice that they did have a representative offering good advice and often posting away on these forums. So I took the plunge. I have now been with them a few days and I have to say I am delighted with them. They are friendly, responsive, knowledgeable and full of experience. I had a few issues whilst processing the migration, caused by Stablehost. I needed to change nameservers and the stable host had me editing DNS zone records, A Records and all sorts when in reality a few minutes speaking to the LinuxFox representatives solved all my issues within 20 minutes. At this stage I was still waiting for rpelies from Stablehost who had been discussing with me for over 2 hours, I say discussing with me, if you countythe 20 minutes in between replies! In the end I told the rerpresntative from Stablehost that it had all been sorted by Linuxfox. I really got the impression that the guy from Stablehost didnt have a clue what he was talking about. The guys form Linuxfox responded quicky, compare this to Stablehost, they are worlds apart. The other day I opened a ticket with Stable host and the person I spoke to logged off halfway through the conversation, so I started a new conversation and basically got told off for opening two tickets! So, all in all, I am delighted with the service of Linuxfox, a huge thanks to them. As for Stablehost, sorry guys, you have lost your way and lost a customer who has been with you since 2015. Even when some of the staff has remained the same in the last year or so at StableHost, its internal culture has changed a lot, even before it was acquired. It's not really the fault of the people handling the tickets, they are doing the best they can with the resources they have. I used to work there back when it was great and customers loved it, I often wish it remained the way it was at 2015. I am happy to see you've found a provider that works for you, at the end of the day, that's what's important. Congrats on your new provider.
