And I do agree that having large number of followers do help you to grow
But how this helps, we need to understand the reason behind it.
The more people follow you, the more people know you!
And the more people know you means the more growth you can have in your work/business.
That means your growth is directly proportional to the number of people know you or you can say the amount of networking you have.

When it comes to LinkedIn, this platform is best in terms of networking with right people.
Instead of just focusing on followers, focus on the networking as well.
