I was 'lucky' born in Hanoi - the capital of Vietnam and the place I grew up isn't suburbia, 
it's like downtown and every kid like me we were all able to learn English when we started 
learning at primary school. And after 12 years from grade 1 to 12, we've just known how to 
say 'hi', 'thank you', 'good bye' and so on. We were like machines never really understood 
about things, studying as parrots and praying get through the exams. 
That's a piece of our education to show u guys how 'lucky' we are. That's our generation, 
now seems it's way better cuz foreigners come here more often and kids have more changes to 
learn and practice English. In general, 90% of people here are monolinguals, just 10% could 
speak English but most of their accents are horrible. Teenagers and adults here also tryna 
learn Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German,... though.

P/S: I asked my friends before that why we have to learn other languages, for example English, 
which is not foreigners learn Vietnamese?! Cuz we're poor? Cuz we're a developing country, 
also called a less developed country or underdeveloped country?! Why we have to learn a lot of 
things for nothing and try so hard while someones just laugh at our faces and act like they're 
smarter than us?! Oh, come on!
