But if you tweak your configuration files, you can make XEN in PVHVM mode about 20% faster then even the best tweaked KVM setup. We use both and both have their place in the market and offerings. A great way to start is to use a public cloud solution like AWS or Digital Ocean or Google cloud for example. That way you would not have to buy the actual hardware and you can just pay as you go. I wholeheartedly disagree with this. You're going to want as few middle men as possible or your pricing is never going to be competitive. If you don't want to invest in the hardware up front, that's fine - you can lease dedicated bare metal servers. But ask yourself - why would anyone pay you when they can pay AWS, Digital Ocean, or Google Cloud to get what you're giving them - without your markup. Anyone worth their weight can use a "who is" to figure out where their service is coming from. If you want to sell VPSs - use a bare metal solution you have full control over, whether that be personally owned or leased. Just my opinion.
