Gwar split with guitarist Brent Purgason aka Pustulus Maximus

Richmond, Virginia heavy metal band Gwar have recently bid farewell to their guitarist, Pustulus Maximus, also known as Brent Purgason in the human realm. After an impressive 11-year run with the band, Purgason has officially announced his departure, assuring fans that it is on good terms.

Purgason joined Gwar as Pustulus Maximus back in 2012 and made his mark by contributing to the band's studio albums, including their 13th release, Battle Maximus, and their latest offering, The New Dark Ages, which came out earlier this year. 

Although leaving the band, Purgason assured that he would still be involved in some behind-the-scenes capacities, although the extent of his involvement remains unknown.
