Today marks the Black Friday in the history of Australian Oil Refining with another critical BP Refinery on West coast of Australia deciding to shutdown.
What an irony for a developed country like ours to depend on overseas companies for the most critical item to run the nation!
Are we just good to produce dirt and crude oil for export and then depend on the developing nations to send us goods for our survival?
The pandemic taught us lessons to be self reliant but are we learning?
It’s time for the industry leaders like Andrew Forest, Gina Rinehart and others to build downstream industries for Australia.
This may not stack up as profitable business on the charts but will be counted as a great contribution towards the nation building and self reliance.
