Watch The Wolverine Online With X-Men Origins: Wolverine being a prequel to the first three films, The Wolverine is a direct sequel after the events of The Last Stand. Logan aka Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), has isolated himself from the outside world and the X-Men, vowing never to kill again after killing Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) in The Last Stand; who he occasionally he sees in this dreams throughout the film. Although with this being a Wolverine movie, you will obviously see him getting stabby. Logan is called in by a dying old acquaintance in Japan, Yashida (Hal Yamanouchi), that he saved long ago in WW II.
He offers Logan not only his thanks but also a gift: the chance to be mortal. As Logan struggles with this decision, he then is caught up in an assassination attempt on the granddaughter of his old friend, Mariko (Tao Okamoto). While risking tooth and nail and claw to protect Mariko, Logan discovers his healing factor is not working. Logan now must uncover who and why someone wants this girl dead and if this may be the end of The Wolverine.
I had some serious doubts going in to seeing this movie. I'm not the biggest X-Men fan and with all the previous films, I found myself silently nodding my head many a time. One of the things I never quite see in the X-Men movies is enough character development. That is not the case here for The Wolverine. Almost each character here is fleshed out and gives more than enough reason to feel something for them. Jackman as Wolverine is fantastic as always.

While there is still quite a few great action sequences in this movie, this film remains to be a little more grounded then it's predecessors. Some may complain about the pacing of the movie but I particularly like this new approach in The Wolverine. As Logan is trying to reconcile for his sins and coming to terms with his immortality throughout the film.
