  1. CAPE HATTERAS, N.C. (WAVY/AP) — An expected 10,000 travelers confront a twelve due date Friday for emptying an island on North Carolina's Outer Banks after a development organization caused a power blackout, leaving individuals hunting down a place to eat, remain cool or to continue interfered with get-aways.
  2. Gov. Roy Cooper issued a highly sensitive situation Thursday for Ocracoke and Hatteras islands because of the huge blackout.
  3. "This announcement will enable us to move truly necessary assets through the state as fast as conceivable to cause reestablish the ability to Ocracoke and Hatteras Islands," Cooper said.
  4. The Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative said in a news discharge that PCL Construction told the utility it had driven a steel packaging into an electric transmission link while taking a shot at the new Bonner Bridge on the state's drift around 4:30 Thursday morning, incidentally slicing off energy to Ocracoke and Hatteras islands.
  5. PCL issued an announcement Thursday night, which said to some degree, "We are effectively working with NCDOT and Cape Hatteras Electric to decide the reason for the issue while helping with reestablishing power as fast as could be expected under the circumstances."
